JOHN PATRICK BISSET

6 CUMBERLAND STREET,
EDINBURGH EH3 6SA.
Tel: 0131-556-6464 - Home. 0131-229-8734 - Work.
My work is primarily
concerned with the interaction and integration of landscape elements.
In recent work predominantly those of light, water and cloud formation.
The thematic and atmospheric content of the paintings - the interplay
of colour and subject matter - are always intended to imbue in the viewer
a notion or idea of well being, of life enhancing quality, what the Greeks
called "ARETE". There is no intended or obvious political or
socio-historical standpoint. There is no comment on issues or events.
Simply put, these pictures are about "feeling good", that is
all.
