Artist's Statement

My paintings invite an active role from the viewer: a conversation, a response, a reaction, an input. Example: The Kings' Children.
Bernadette and Julie, though based on real people, have developed into a style in which I paint most of my portraits. HM The Queen and Christa (my wife) are the only exceptions in that they have retained the realistic aspect.
