Some of his public works on display include: Miners Monument,
Newtongrange, Scotland Over the last 20 years Alan has been involved in the commercial field as Director of Endeavour Art Studios, and has been responsible for many visitor attractions both here and abroad, Scots Liberating Trust Exhibition, Overloon, Holland; Inverary Jail: Fighting ships of Hartlepool: Aros Centre Skye to name a few. His work is varied in both 2&3 dimensional terms and perhaps owes its’ diversity to the requirements of his many clients. His paintings and book illustrations hang in private collections worldwide. Recently short-listed for ‘Not The Turner Prize’ @ THE Faerie Queene was exhibited in the Mall Gallery, London. An impressive oil painting of ‘The Battle of Killiecrankie’ hangs in Edinburgh Castle. The painting ‘I Am Come Home’ was the introductory piece for the recent ‘Scots College’ exhibition in the Edinburgh City Art Centre. These paintings were recently auctioned in Edinburgh for a total of £17,500.00. Over the past two years he has devoted his time to painting at his studio near Howgate - Midlothian where he has exhibited his more contemporary style in his studio gallery. Many of his works are available in print form. |
