Artist Statement
The work explores my relationship with the sea and is inspired by the quality of light on the surface of the water the relationship it has to the sky and land..
Then in to this picture come people, building harbours, piers and oil rigs. There is great beauty in both, but a beauty that is as starkly contrasting as our relationship with the sea. I work mainly in Gobelin Tapestry, Textile and Paper and In recent works have been experiment with the 3D qualities that can be achieved with tapestry weave and stitched papers.

Ideas are developed from personal experience, research and informed through study. A powerful passion and personal vision is explored in the manipulation of both image and medium. Firstly my ideas are developed on paper through drawing and painting. These images are then evolved by experimenting with materials and technique before being translated in to finished works.
