Gallery and Sales Intern at EP

EP-LogoEdinburgh Printmakers have 2 positions for Gallery and Sales Internships.

Work pattern: 2 days a week, may include weekends and occasional evenings.

Job Description: Reporting to and providing support to the Gallery Co-Ordinator and the Sales and Development Manager, the post holder will be a people person with impeccable communication skills who will provide excellent customer care via telephone, by email and in person; process sales of artwork and products from the shop; assist in stock management and handling of artworks, maintain the database and stock paperwork; provide information to visitors; and general gallery administration.

You will gain an understanding of the contemporary arts market, fine art printmaking practice as well as the workings of a public sector organisation. You will be involved in the daily running of the gallery from serving customers to stock management, as well as assisting in the co-ordination of touring exhibitions, off site projects and in-house events.

Hours 15 hours (2 days) per week (Wednesday to Saturday). Some flexibility with hours may be negotiated with both parties. Occasional evening and weekend work is necessary. The placement will be for a minimum of 6 months. Duration: Each post is for 6 months

Eligibility: These positions are only open to candidates with the following qualification and experience: Graduates of visual arts/design/art history/art theory/arts management/museum & gallery education courses Customer service experience Experience of working in an arts environment Track record of sales in a retail or arts environment
