Issy Valentine is a mixed media artist, a bricoleur with work inspired by pseudo-memory of place and people; that space between what is known, what is remembered, and what is constructed, from fragments of the past and present woven together. Natural forms and cycles are explored in paint, print, often eco dyed fibre and stitch

Issy studied first Fine Art, and then gained a First Class Business degree, both in Dundee, returning, after many years in the public sector and social research, to study Creative Techniques in Embroidery with City & Guilds. This inspired her to complete her M.F.A. (Art & Humanities) at Duncan of Jordanstone in 2014, with her Masters Show installation 'Reconnect to the Lost & forgotten' a hidden archive exporing current issues regarding family and institutional archives. She is Chair of Angus Open Studios, has exhibited in Scotland and U.S.A., and gives talks and demonstrations.
