Painting is my passion. I love to paint nature where light brings a special beauty to the scene, for example, the winter glow on tree tops, deep shadows cast on a path, strong sunlight on tree trunks or light dancing on water - it is always the quality of light that inspires my work. My favourite places for inspiration are the Lake of Menteith in the Trossachs (nearby where I live) and Kircudbrightshire in the South of Scotland. I work mainly from my own photographs using acrylic paints.

I gained a higher art at school and then later, attended several summer school classes at Glasgow School of Art. More recently, I studied painting and drawing on a part time basis for 4 years at Strathclyde University. I now paint full time and began selling my work in late 2014. I now have work in 20 or so private collections. I have exhibited in gallery shows and am currently working towards a solo show in the Tollbooth Gallery, Kirkudbright in June 2016.
