Hand cast paper: an exploration of the art
May 18, 25, June 1 and 8 mornings: 10.00am – 1.00pm
This is a pilot for a series of small workshops in the artist/papermakers studio.
Emphasis will be on individual support and advice to the participating student/artist backed up with demonstrations.
The aim of the course will be an introduction to working with, and the consideration of, constructing innovative art forms with paper fibres and pulps. These can be simply ‘original works in their own right”, or a substrate to draw, paint, print or sew upon.
There will be ample opportunity to experiment and consolidate work with a variety of fibres as well as combining striking and bold colour.
Simple vessels can be constructed. A continuation of mould making with plaster for casting with paper will be offered in the future.
This course is suitable for those wishing to expand their skills or beginners alike.
Paper pulps, fibres and some materials supplied. Cost: 50.00 per session
