Call for entries

The Society of Scottish Artists, in collaboration with Engramme Print Studio, is offering all SSA Members the opportunity to apply for this prestigious award of a solo exhibition in Quebec, Canada which will take place from May 7 – June 12, 2016.

Now in its fifth year, this exchange programme has been set up to create a dialogue between artists based in Scotland and Canada who are working in the field of printmaking.

All types of membership are eligible to apply. Non-members may apply by becoming Ordinary Members.

The Prize

A ONE-MONTH SOLO EXHIBITION IN QUEBEC, CANADA

  • Completed application form – click here to download
  • An up to date C.V. and a brief artist statement (no more than 200 words)
  • 8-10 jpeg images of proposed work for exhibition (Digital images submitted should be in JPEG format with the filename yoursurname1.jpg, yoursurname2.jpg etc to relate to the order on your form. Each image should be 72 dpi and should be no larger than 700 pixels longest edge. The file size should be no more than 1MB each, and emails should be limited to 5MB or five images per email). Work arranged in installation format is acceptable but must have printmaking as its core component.

Due to the nature of this project and the timings involved, applicants are expected to have a significant body of work, from which a selection can be made for the exhibition, therefore a proposal will be requested from a shortlist of artists selected by the SSA. These proposals will then be sent to the Board of Governors at Engramme Print Studio in Quebec for final selection of the successful applicant.

Shortlisted artists will be informed by February 29, 2016.
