Every year we work with a number of generous partners to offer artists exhibiting at our exhibition a range of prizes and awards. Below is a full list of the award and prizes available at this years exhibition.
The Society of Scottish Artists’ Award
Invitation to exhibit at the next Annual Exhibition. Selected by the President and Vice President of the Society.
£600 for an artist of merit.
The Presidents Prize is made possible through contributions from past Presidents of the Society and will be selected each year by one of the Prize contributors.
The W Gordon Smith and Mrs Jay Gordon Smith Award.
A prize of £3000 for work of merit. Selected By the trustees of the W Gordon Smith Award.
The Deloitte Prize
For an artwork of merit, £500. Selected by a representative of Deloitte.
The Connell & Connell WS Prize
For an artwork of merit, £300
Established in 1924, Connell & Connell Connell & Connell are an independent firm of solicitors and estate agents with a reputation for professionalism and quality of service. Selected by a representative of Connell & Connell.
The Ramsay Cornish Prize
For an artwork of merit, £300
Ramsay Cornish is an independent auction house located in Edinburgh’s city centre. Selected by Susan and Martin Cornish.
The Pauline Fay Lazarus Prize for work using the human form
For an artwork of merit, £150.
The Open Eye Gallery Exhibition Prize
The Open Eye Gallery has been established since 1982 and is one of Scotland’s leading contemporary private art galleries. Set in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town, it offers an extensive and varied exhibition programme. Selected by representatives of Open Eye Gallery.
&Gallery Exhibition Prize for Abstract Work
&Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located at 17 Dundas Street, Edinburgh specialising in contemporary visual and applied art. Selected by the &Gallery director, Avril Nicol.
Tatha Gallery Exhibition Prize
Two artists selected for a joint exhibition.
The Tatha Gallery, Newport on Tay, Fife is one of Scotland’s leading contemporary art galleries with a strong focus on Scottish contemporary art. Selected by Directors of the Gallery.

The Meffan Gallery Exhibition Prize
Meffan Museum and Art Gallery is situated in the centre of the market town of Forfar offering a diverse programme of art exhibitions. Selected by the Curator of the Meffan Gallery.

The Detail Framing Prize

Detail Framing Studio is a bespoke picture framer, gallery and archival photography studio based in Tollcross in Edinburgh. Selected by Jamie McAteer, Director of Detail Framing.
Edinburgh Printmakers Publishing Award
The opportunity to work on a limited edition print project with assistance from studio master-printers.
Established in 1967 as the first open access studio in Britain, Edinburgh Printmakers is an organisation dedicated to the practice of fine art printmaking providing high quality, low-cost printmaking facilities for artists. Selected by Alastair Clark, Studio Director.
