“Something reused or altered but still bearing visible traces of its earlier form.”
Palimpsest is Society of Scottish Artist satellite exhibition hosted by An Lanntair, Stornoway. The exhibition will feature a selection of works by Society members which interrogate, challenge, comment or engage creatively with the concept of ‘Palimpsest’.

With forensic and other techniques it became possible to reveal the original writing, which could be more significant than what came after.
