SSA Professional member Jenny Pope brings together a collection of sculptures and drawings, which stem from a personal exploration of uncertainty, whether it is the reassuring collecting of objects or being in a confined space.
New sculptures and drawings explore the idea of personal space and the dynamic between security and containment. Large hanging drawings, bordering on 2D sculptures are shown alongside textile structures that aim to cross the boundaries of architecture, clothing and containers. They are partly a response to working in a psychiatric hospital and the tension between need for privacy and solitude and the enclosing and restrictions that occur, as well as a personal exploration of curved corners and comfortable space.
A reconfiguration of a number of object installations made over recent years. They all explore the process of making in series, creating collections, taxonomy and the relationship between objects when viewed together.
