The original concept for my work can be simple, such as rust, stone, roots, bark or fabric. I like the patterns of surfaces and the effects created by weathering and weaving.

I start with drawings and block printing, working up to a series of finished pieces usually in acrylic on canvas. My work is bold and heavily textured, constructed with many layers, sometimes finished with pastel and graphite.

Annie moved to the Scottish Borders in 2017. Originally from Yorkshire, she has spent the last 10 years living and working in France and Turkey. She studied at Harrogate College and Leeds College of Art and Design.
