I have a deep love for nature and constantly strive to capture the mood and atmosphere of my experience. To do this I can visit the same place many times and surround myself as much as possible with the subject to heighten my senses before I even take out a sketchbook. My goal is to portray the world around me into art as this is my way of expressing without words.

I am Edinburgh born and bred. I studied courses at Edinburgh Art College and Leith School of Art where I won a residency at Dumfries House in Ayrshire after a 2 year painting course. Also awarded the John Busby drawing course bursary which included spending time on Bass rock - a tiny island (volcanic plug) on the Firth of Forth surrounded by seabirds. The results of this time were exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London, with the Society of Wildlife Artists. Now living in Perthshire I work from my studio there.
