My landscape paintings try to capture something of the changeable nature of the Scottish climate with lively brushstrokes and rich colour. Places I have visited and are in one way or another important to me. Colours that speak and an attempt to put down in paint something about the feel of the place.

I studied painting at Leith School of Art and Cumbria College of Art. I grew up in rural Aberdeenshire and this has had a lasting legacy on my work. I was delighted to be awarded the Scottish Arts Club prize in 2017 at the annual RSW Open exhibition and have exhibited throughout the UK. I live in Edinburgh and share a studio at WASPS Patriothall.
