“My passion is designing and creating functional works of art from beautiful wood. I enjoy working with wood, taking it on a journey from tree to finished piece of furniture.”

Graduating from the internationally renowned School for Master Craftsmen in Wood at Parnham House, Daniel initially polished his skills working in and around London, before returning home to Scotland in 2011.

Appreciated by those who understand working with wood, Daniel has become well-known for his non-compromising stance on excellence, the highest quality, and innovative approaches to enhancing older techniques.

His concerns for the world in which we live, extend beyond his working practices to his free time as a committed voluntary worker on local educational environmental projects. Living in part of an old whisky distillery on the side of the River Esk, he hopes eventually to be able to run his workshop on a zero carbon footprint.

The furniture art from his workshop /studio is mainly made to commission, although there are limited edition pieces usually available to purchase immediately.

For some lucky customers, and by use of his mobile sawmill, furniture can be created from a favourite tree – and has been featured in the national magazine 25 Beautiful Homes.

Daniel’s subtle and exquisitely hand-finished designs are fast becoming heirloom pieces – furniture art to be used and enjoyed today, and to pass down generations to enjoy in the future.
