In my work I explore the complexities of the ‘analogue book’ in abstract, developing the themes of ‘transformation’ and ‘abstraction’ of the book as an object and container for presenting a visual narrative.

My process based contemporary practice uses real-time scientific methods of large scale paper chromatography, meditative mark making, photography, artist books and installations to form unique ephemeral abstract works revealing ‘alternative truths’ about site and subject.

The artist books, prints and installations I make act as physical and visual tools for interpreting architectural spaces and creating space for personal cognitive reflection.

I studied and taught at Edinburgh College of Art and have a MA in Contemporary Art Practice, a CofHE in Art & Design and am a qualified Architect (BArch Hons and Dip Arch).

My art and design studio is based in Maxton, in the Scottish Borders and I am also a member of bound : unbound artist book collective. I exhibit regularly, undertake commissions and residencies and take part in professional artist book fairs. I also work freelance for Camerons Architects & The Yuill Community Trust in Galashiels.
