I paint cityscapes, based mainly on Glasgow and London. I enjoy cities as a subject because of their constant variety, movement and change. Particular interests in my recent work have been reflective surfaces, especially windows and riverbanks; and the incorporation of text, sometimes as a natural part of the image, sometimes inspired by it.

I am a Glasgow-based, self-taught artist, though I studied Art History at University as part of my arts degree. I have worked in education for most of my adult life, while painting in my own time. My long and continuing learning process as a painter has helped me appreciate more fully the challenges that all learners face.
