Scotland has long held a strong draw for me with its beautiful scenery and the warmth of its people. The magnificent views and wealth of unspoiled nature in the Scottish Borders, Highlands and Islands provide me with the greatest inspiration.
I enjoy experimenting and creating with felting wool and hand embroidery. This has been the main focus of my artwork for the past few years along with acrylic and pastel paintings of Scottish scenes They seem to be fitting materials to depict the beauty of the natural environment. More recently I have branched into mixed media collage, creating dramatic and imaginative designs with recycled materials.

Born and educated in Kent, I went on to train as a teacher at King Alfred's College, Winchester. Once qualified, I taught art and design for 33 years in inner-city schools. As a Deputy Head Teacher I had little personal time to create my own artwork, that is, until I retired to Scotland in 2008. Using my teaching skills, I have been active in delivering a range of arts and crafts as therapy for local charities and for recreation to women's groups.
