Art Education at GSA set me on my journey of teaching and making art, now working full time from my own studio in the remote Bays of Harris, my home village of Quidinish, Finsbay.
i love working in watercolour, experimenting and mixing media.Japanese woodblock printing learned at Edinburgh Print workshop I experiment with, enjoying the transparency of watercolour paint in the process.Etching is new technique i hope to explore this year.
It was good to have work accepted in two RSA Exhibitions recently as I live remotely, working outwith the mainstream art world.

Awarded residency in Collioure France, at the invitation of the Muncipality of Collioure and L'Association Charles Rennie Macintosh, Roussillon.

Exhibited with Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour at the Lillie Gallery Milngavie in 2016

I was born in one of the most beautiful environments in the world, with my roots going back many generations on Harris and near by Islands. Gaelic was my first language. I love and have a sense of being part of this landscape, the rocky Bays of Harris contrasting with the west Machair land strewn with white sand beaches, the mountains, wild flowers, man's mark on the crofting landscape of feannagan (lazybeds) and peat cuttings, the ebb and flow of the sea, the changing light, all inspire me to paint.
My work is shown at my own studio and one or two other places in the Hebrides. Work leaves my studio/gallery in Harris to all parts of the world.
