My current practice looks to the landscape of the Ochil Hills and uses this as the backdrop in my pieces in the same way they have been the backdrop to my formative years growing up in Tillicoultry. Most of my recent work is part collage, part painting and part wire work on a variety of surfaces with repetition being a feature throughout. Prior to recent family/maternity leave; my work explored a variety of themes including auditory experiences and human dynamics in a more purely abstract form. I am interested in exploring the intersection of process and materials, motherhood, autobiography and landscape. Since returning to my practice recently, although there are still abstract elements to my work there have also been more recognisable forms. I have been creating collages from etched prints that I did some time ago to create images of the Hillfoots and other scenic memories.
