NORMAN McBEATH is a photographer and printmaker whose work focuses on people and places. The National Portrait Galleries in London and Edinburgh have fifty of his portraits in their permanent collections.

Recent work has been exhibited as part of exhibitions at the Leica Gallery in New York; Edinburgh Printmakers, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh; and the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

A number of award winning writers have produced original work supporting his recent solo exhibitions including Jeanette Winterson, A. L. Kennedy and Janice Galloway. His latest book, Plan B ( published by Enitharmon Press, 2009) is a collaboration with the Pulitzer prize winning poet and former Professor of Poetry at Oxford, Paul Muldoon.
