National Open Art, Call for entry information

Now in its 18th year, and with an impressive total prize fund of £60,000, the National Open Art Competition is now calling for entries of new, original artwork from both amateurs and professionals. Sponsored by Towry, the Wealth Adviser, this annual open competition aims to nurture creative talent from emerging and established artists, and last year saw the highest ever number of entries submitted from across the UK for consideration by the panel of judges.

Mediums including painting, drawing, photography, original prints, wall hung installations and computer generated art may be submitted for the competition. Approximately 100 shortlisted works will be selected for exhibition, presented for the first time at London’s Somerset House from 18 September – 26 October 2014, before touring to the Minerva Theatre, Chichester. The prize winning works will be shown at the award winning Pallant House Gallery, Chichester in November, alongside its extensive collection of Modern British art.

The competition is open to all UK artists aged 15 or over. Applicants will need to submit images of their work, an Artist Statement and a current CV. The entry fee is £20 to register and submit one work. Additional works may be submitted at £20 each, a total of four may be submitted for the competition.
