Statement
Statement | Agnes Eperjesy is a visual artist working in collage, mixed media and photography. As an interdisciplinary artist she is using mediums that enable the subversion of imagery to shift meanings, create different narratives, new visual languages, stories and to look at familiar scenes from new angles. Agnes is working with traditional and experimental processes. She tends to approach her work through a humanist lens often using a surrealistic style, analysing and documenting the human experience. Her experimental photography work is largely based on the study of phenomenology, the philosophy of experience, while her collage art practice takes on social commentary, mixed with personal reflections on ideal society and accepted individual behaviour, through layering, distorting proportions, double meanings and symbols, while showing humour and irony. |
