The SSA has been an an artist-led membership organisation since it was founded in 1891 and is governed by an elected President and Council. The SSA holds an Annual Contemporary Open Exhibition in the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) in Princes Street, Edinburgh, supporting emerging, experimental and adventurous artists from Scotland, the UK and the rest of the world.
ENTRY IS BY DIGITAL SUBMISSION
For SSA 2015 we are once again accepting digital submissions for a first round preselection process. The Selecting Committee will choose a shortlist from digital entries of work online, firstly independently and then secondly as a group. The shortlisted works will then be viewed by the Selecting Committee in the gallery and a further choice will be made. This selection will form the SSA Annual Exhibition 2015 at the Hanging & Arranging Committees discretion.
There are two different deadlines depending on the type of work you wish to submit:
Sunday 30 August 2015: Deadline for online digital submission of installation, *sound, *film, performance and large-scale work (over 180cm in any direction)
Sunday 4 October 2015: Deadline for online digital submission of all work under 180cm.
*Sound and film works should be uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube and a link included on the SSA submission site.
