My work is an exploration of line, material and the pervading spirit of place or ‘genius loci’. In my work I explore personal journeys through my local landscape recording my physical and emotional experiences by using repetitive motifs or marks to indicate time, space and distance. Currently working in print, artist books and photography.

I studied Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art (1993 – 1999), and qualified as an Architect in 2001 practicing in Edinburgh until 2008 and teaching at Edinburgh College of Art (2003 – 2007). Since 2008, I have been studying at ECA on the Part-time degree course in Art & Design and developing my own art and architecture studio now based in Maxton in the Scottish Borders.

Selected Awards and Exhibitions: The London Art Book Fair, Whitechapel (London, 2012), PrintED Exhibition, ECA (Edinburgh, 2012), RIAS Rowand Anderson Silver Medal, Commendation (2000), Andrew Grant Bequest (1999), Building Design – Top 100 Young Designers in the UK (1999)
