We are the Scottish Society of Artists – a dynamic and inclusive organisation with a growing community of more than 2000 members based all over the world. We welcome artists of all disciplines and backgrounds, at every stage of their careers. We provide inspiring and valuable opportunities for all our members, from students and recent graduates to established artists.
As one of the oldest and biggest artist-led organisations in Scotland, we are committed to building on the strong foundation of our rich history, while always seeking to experiment, innovate and challenge tradition. We champion, support and empower our members, and foster connections, partnerships and collaborations, both in Scotland and internationally. We provide a well-established platform for artists working across all disciplines and art forms.
At our heart is a diverse and ambitious programme of members’ exhibitions, residencies, exchanges, social events and development opportunities, the highlight of which is the Annual Exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy. Our exhibitions programme has grown steadily in recent years, and now extends right across Scotland, in venues ranging from public museums to commercial galleries, as well as online.
