I create cloudscapes and landscapes in either soft pastels or oil paints - inspired by the stunning vistas on and above the Isle of Skye, UK. It's my aim to capture what you see and what you feel when you look up at a mesmerizing sky, or out at a beautiful landscape. I welcome commissions too so if you have something in mind, I'll happily discuss the possibilities.

You know when you look up and see the most gorgeous sunset you've ever seen? Remember how that feels, where you were, who you were with, and most importantly, that sense of wonder at how something so amazing could just form all by itself? That's my inspirational aim: to paint pictures that combine what I see with how I feel when I see it.

I write blogposts after finishing each painting. Some of those form in my head whilst I'm working on the picture, but mostly they arrive out of my fingers onto the keyboard just as I'm reflecting on the piece. I usually derive the name of the painting from those blogposts.

Outside of creating art I like to run, do yoga, watch fabulous films and read books that make me think and chuckle.

Lynne Forrester works mainly in ink, soft pastels and oil paints to specialise in abstracts, velvety-soft seascapes and cloudscapes inspired by the beautiful scenery on the Isle of Skye in the Hebrides. Originally from Northamptonshire, Lynne lived in several locations around the UK before choosing to live and work on Skye to pursue her art career whilst surrounded by the part of the world that moves her to paint from the heart.
Lynne’s initial art training took place at the School of Art, University of Wales, Aberystwyth following her BA(hons) in Cultural Studies at the University of East London. She then continued her studies in Aberystwyth to gain a MA in Literary Studies. Since then, she has worked in seemingly unartistic professions but always managed to weave creative elements through them, whether working in an office or pharmaceutical sales. Lynne has continued to study and practice drawing and painting over the years, being privileged to work with incredibly talented teachers and artists.
After exhibiting in both solo and group Wiltshire-based shows, Lynne has her own permanent solo exhibition space at Lynne’s Art Shed in Waternish, Isle of Skye and continues to work in soft pastels and oil paints to create mesmerizing cloudscapes and seascapes. She is also delighted to be featured in the 'Skye Makers' magazine and gallery and also in a recent mini-documentary for Catalan TV.
