In my work I source used beams and scaffold boards from demolition sites. Usable material is hand cut into blocks sanded and filled if necessary. Blocks are then primed on the surface to be painted with artist gesso. The reverse side is pre-drilled to allow for wall hanging but the blocks work equally well as free standing pieces.
My influences are drawn from the land, sea and skies of the west coast of Scotland. All works are created using oil paints and my aim is to allow the viewer to find a sense of space and depth. Works are often created using layers which allows for a textured finish.
When not using recycled blocks I also paint on artist canvass and board.

I live on the banks of the river Clyde in the small coastal town of Gourock.
I have exhibited in galleries throughout the area since 2006 having also held solo shows and Arts Centre exhibitions.
