My work reflects the emotional and instinctive responses that I have to a particular concept, place or situation. What I love most about my creative life is being able to express ideas, emotional states and recreate atmospheres using a visual language.

I am a Scottish artist, currently based in North Wales. I studied art at degree level for two years but changed paths to pursue an unmissable opportunity in sports. I continued drawing and painting despite this change and my professional life as an artist began with commissions for equestrian portraits. As a trainer of horses, I was constantly aware of their beauty and power. It was a natural progression towards portraying them in drawings and paintings. From this, and from a life long interest in art history grew a desire to study and practice art. I am now fortunate to be able to focus upon it full-time and build a career as an artist. I am primarily a realist and figurative artist but I find great joy in creating the occasional abstract work.
