Statement

My new work is known as 'VOEM'. This is an umbrella title I have created to describe how I feel about the work in general. I see the artworks as VISUAL POEMS which I have contracted to 'VOEM'. The work began in 2016 and was inspired by the 14-18 NOW, (working with The Imperial War Museum), programme for the 1st World War centenary. My 'VOEM' work is mainly based on World War I and the work of the War Poets. The first VOEMS were exhibited at Resipole Studios Galley near Ardnamurchan in West Scotland in 2018. Voems, of course, could be about anything from the serious to the light hearted. The terms 'VOET', 'VOETRY' and 'VOETIC' could also be used in this context.
