Sculptures unfold through resisting organisation. In my practice I attempt to work against binaries and reimagine ways of knowing. Taking root in an interest with the body, where what is considered a body is held open – I work with both subject and object in mind. Building figures of familiar and unfamiliar kinds. Creating monstrous works – symbolic expressions of contemporary unease – by redefining boundaries between ourselves and our environment. I attempt to look beyond the facade of the individual, ordered and known worlds. Instead, fostering attention and care for the communal, disordered, unknown, and ambiguous worlds that make room for new kinds of understanding.
