My art is inspired by the colour, shapes, and patterns around us. The work is very process driven in that I scour galleries, social media, and the internet for works and shapes that I like. I bring these very loosely into my practice with the start of a composition that is free-flowing. As I paint, I get lost in the process and I am quick to complete my initial iteration of the work I then spend some time analyzing the piece and “fixing” the things that concern me. I do move around composition topics but seem to be drawn to abstract still life shapes. Many of the shapes and objects are from memories visiting old Auntys and having Sunday tea with their best china.
