Statement

Statement

I chose the ancient technique of hot wax painting as my primary form of expression. Its durability is impressive, the colors do not fade over time, they retain their vibrancy, and the surface never cracks. Self-made wax mediums make paintings physically more resistant to scratches. I do not use oil or other paints to make my encaustic.

As a figurative encaustic painter, I use hot wax paint that requires a lot of concentration so that the layers flow only where I want them and the colors don’t mix where I don’t want them.

In recent years, I have used OSB as a base. By scraping back layers of paint, I use the texture of the wood as part of my compositions to create a unique, rustic industrial feel.

That’s why I enjoy spontaneity, the use of many layers during acrylic painting. I build paintings with transparent colors, layering colors, and textures on top of each other. I highlight some details that are beautiful to me and hide others.

My aim is for the viewer to find himself in a familiar situation and to reflect on his perceptions. Thus, when I paint with acrylics, the characteristics of my figurative style are transformed into an imaginary interpretation of nature.
