| Statement |
Based in Edinburgh, Emma studied at Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 2005 with a Fine Art degree. She is inspired by her surrounding environments- both urban and natural landscapes and creates an emotional response in energetic, atmospheric works.
Emma is interested in the complexities of nature, the soothing and healing properties of nature, and its meditative affects. Rooted in reality, her work is abstracted further with mixed media in the studio to create atmosphere and depth. She aims to explore the boundaries between abstraction and representation and to challenge the viewers perception of traditional landscape.
