Statement

Statement

Capturing the mood of a landscape is everything to me. I suppose the challenge is not to be distracted by the conspicuous but to look at the uniqueness of a location. As a landscape painter it is the mood conveyed that I recall about any location. I think that is at the heart of my work.
All landscape painting is an attempt to capture a ‘sense of place’, an elusive and fleeting magic.
I combine watercolour, oil pastels, acrylic paint, gouache, wax crayons and ink on paper or canvas.
