Statement

I love art in all its forms and appreciate creativity in its many guises.

I like the blurring of lines between art and craft, between representation and abstraction. I am inspired by other artists like Rothko and Pollock, Chagall and Picasso, Kandinsky and Miro.

I like the integrity of working with my hands to create an object. Through this approach I am currently combining painting with 3D forms particularly through the use of beads. I always create with a purpose but I also wants my audience and customers to look into what I create and relate to them and to interpret them through their experience.

Biography

I am one half of the Lucy & Roy Hughes creative artistic partnership.

Together we (Lucy & Roy) create unique art work. I design and create exotic woven beadwork integral to the art works. I am a fine art beader and I paints with beads. Those beads are the finest quality Japanese glass with some coated in 24Kt gold.

Equally at home at contemporary art fairs or creating wall art for your home. Modern, contemporary, abstract, graphic, pop art and colourful.
