I scour my surroundings for images, picking out details such as street debris, plant life, puddles, and textures of walls, gravel, and pavements. Compositions are planned in my sketchbook, merging opposing elements from these images – such as manmade and organic. Unmoored from their original context, they become a marriage of imagination and reality, drawing out what I find beautiful in my environment.
