Statement

Statement

I am an art historian and visual artist, primarily focused on painting and photography, as well
as various spatial forms, including audiovisual environments and multifaceted artistic
interventions aimed at transforming abandoned spaces. I concentrate both theoretically and
practically on the existential dimensions of creativity and the role of artistic practice in spiritual
exploration.

Painting is my primary means of artistic expression. My journey has taken me from classical
art education, focused on studying nature, through the traditional art of Orthodox icon
painting, to geometric abstraction. Fascinated by the process of life-death-life
transformations, I place great emphasis on the tactile aspects of the painting material in my
abstract works, experimenting with binders and dry pigments. I seek to accumulate primers
mixed with sand, debris, and dry vegetal and animal remains, which are then covered with
transparent, luminous colours, forming stratified structures reminiscent of archaeological and
geological layers.
