I am a Galloway-based artist in South West Scotland where I have been living and working for the past 10 years.  cafter completing my MA in Contemporary Fine Art at the University of Carlisle in 2019 I have been very involved with film. The genre of my work is artists’ moving image, an experimental format following in the footsteps of expanded cinema and inspired by the work of eco-philosopher David Abram, and film-makers John Woodman and Stan Brakhage.

I create work using durational film, providing an opportunity for close examination of the space-time continuum. I also create and film kinetic sculptures, which are simple suspended pieces requiring no energy input, instead moving in response to the temperature of, and human presence within, their environment.  The work is in part a response to the frenetic and relentless pace of life which can often seem unavoidable but is, in reality, a choice. I offer the viewer an opportunity to spend quiet time, immersed in the content and achieve a gentle state of almost meditation.

I am also a visual artist of almost 40 years duration (blimey!) and also spend studio time on various projects which can include various forms of print, collage, painting and sculpture.
