Pursuing work that is related to how humans exist in the world: exploring, on one hand, the small physical material of our everyday life, which impacts on the environment:

and, in contrast, our very transient physical presence, that wakens the resonance and beauty of enduring spaces.

The ideas maintain a relationship with physicality, to explore the relevance of our continuing to exist, in a digital society.

These ideas are demonstrated in two ongoing major strands of installation work:

– ‘Pockets’, which asks people for disposable items from about their person, potential ‘litter’, which is turned into a collective work, something of translucent beauty, encouraging dialogue and reflection on these items and the way of life that produces them.

– ‘Moving Through’, a dance-related series, creates lightweight, translucent responses  to the ephemeral, fleeting movement of the human figure through space, and how this awakens the voice of environments that have resonance with our human sensibility, such as stone, wood, plants, water, glass, light and air.

These have developed in parallel and  there is a counterpoint between them.
