Statement

Statement

Alexandra’s paintings take you with her in experiencing a walk through the streets of different cities. The shapes, textures, colours and geometry of the buildings, structures, sky, people and transportation inform the marks she makes. Colour is key to encapsulating the feeling of a place. The paintings are of densely layered forms, popping up and below one another thus creating the structure and chaos of city life.

Alexandra graduated from Edinburgh College of Art, The University of Edinburgh with a BA Painting Honours Degree in 2017 and then went on to study at Florence Academy of Art in Italy for three years where she was in the Advanced painting programme.
