Statement
Statement | The incomprehensible is my niche. The size of the universe, classic riddles, ancient alphabets, and myths that claim a composers ninth symphony will be their last are some of the areas I have been exploring, although I will never quite grasp what any of this means or answer any questions they withhold. From this lack of understanding, I create. I build new dimensions with no intention of meaning, manifest things we can never quite get our head around into drawings. I take words and encode them into new images to further complicate the ability to decipher. Using this lack of understanding, I can create work that reflects both complexity and simplicity. Although my work ultimately reflects how I perceive the incomprehensible, I do not wish to limit the experience to my own. I aim to open up space for conversation, so that the worlds I create or the ciphers I encode can be a place for people to discuss their experiences, memories and opinions of the world and of the mind. By nature, we are curious. I want to push that curiosity further, challenging what we know and what we know we do not know. |
