Statement

Statement

Kerry Jones is a multi – media artist based in Scotland whose practice incorporates film; sound; archive; manipulated still images and site-specific interactions. Jones is a curator, project manager and educator with  a passion for creative investigation, experimentation and community engagement with a portfolio of curated exhibitions, film screenings, events and community projects.

I make short films using my own and found hoarded audio visual footage.
I manually and digitally manipulate images and sound into multi media situations.
My work is non linear and often looped.
I gather and get lost in words.
I use sound in rhythmic alliance with the image.
I am influenced by Dada , Surrealism and Situationism.
My work has been called glitchy.
Everyday objects interest me especially cardboard and plastic containers.
I reuse materials, always looking for a frame in the everyday.
Liminal portals and haptic visuality interest me.
Working collaboratively and experimentally is vital.
I am 54.
