Statement

Statement

I work to deepen connections between people and place.

Observing my natural surroundings can feel like observing my innermost self. Both constantly processing, adapting and growing between moments of turbulence and tranquility. Nature holds my hand into wonderful moments of calm through to the unbearable storms life throws my way.

I see sky, sea and land upon exposed surfaces and folding layers of Caithness stone. Using photographs of this 400 million year old stone captured from mainland UK’s most northerly coastline, I create digital artworks revealing nature’s ability to mirror our ever-changing emotional landscape and support our mental wellbeing. I hope those viewing my work feel a greater sense of both the natural world around them, and in turn, themselves.
