| Statement |
On mainland UK’s most northerly coastline, I experiment with Caithness stone as a medium for digital art. With photography and computer based techniques, I transform the visual texture of rocks into meaningful land and seascapes. Titled StoneScape, my emotive works often focus on the intersection between the impermanence of lived experience and the endurance of nature. Details of moss, seaweed, shells, and sand are often weaved into my work, with each finished piece composed of up to fifty digital layers. I enjoy a contemplative, sensitive practice exploring the ways nature supports wellbeing.
