Statement

Su Grierson is a visual artist whose main practice includes video, image and objects. Working on a project basis  she exhibits in galleries, outdoor locations and other venues in Scotland and internationally. She  visually questions and stimulates  awareness and understanding of contemporary life with a specific interest in land and landscape. Living in a rural place, the land and the weather are my culture. They constitute my first thoughts of every day and are the focus of my current art projects.

Biography

Su Grierson graduated  Master of Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art in 1995  after receiving a BA first class at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee in 1993. She lives in rural Perthshire, Scotland, and is actively involved in developing contemporary art and supporting artists living outside of the major urban centres. Working collaboratively and across media and other art forms is an ongoing interest.
With solo and curated exhibitions in various countries including many in Japan and the  Baltic countries. Residencies have including Rough Mix with Magnetic North in Edinburgh, The Performance Corporation’s Space programme in Ireland and Spirit of North in Fukushima Japan.
