Statement

At art futuro we love to combine traditional with modern materials and we are constantly experimenting and exploring new combinations and production methods. Our current favourites are translucent slate, wood, acrylic and LEDs. Combined with simple and clean Bauhaus inspired lines, these offer endless opportunities to create timeless products that are a piece of furniture during the day and an atmospheric lamp at night.
We use advanced production methods so we can quickly adapt shapes or create completely new and bespoke designs. Thus, we are keen to collaborate with other artists, sculptors and designers to stimulate creativity and come up with completely new creations.

Biography

We are a husband-wife team with a non-creative business background but with a deep love for and interest in culture, design and quality craft. Part of our family background was in furniture design and manufacturing. As a youngster, Phil was trained by his granddad, a master of his trade, in all sorts of carpentry skills.
We had been looking, for a long time, to break free from our existing careers to pursue a creative future. After a few years of planning and working towards that goal, things looked perfect at the end of 2017, so we decided to go for it.
We have not looked back once and are enjoying every single moment of it, whether it is making things in the workshop or designing new products. We found that we work very well together and that our complementary skills come in handy.
Right now, we are hugely excited as we have many new ideas and designs on the drawing board that we want to implement over the coming weeks and months.
