Creative Spaces @ Marchmont House Residency

We are delighted to announce that the successful applicant of our new Creative Spaces @ Marchmont House Residency is Natasha Russell.

We received a high standard of applications which made the selection process extremely difficult. We really struggled to decide on one artist for this opportunity and with further discussion with Marchmont House, we are very pleased to be able to offer Marissa Stoffer a two week residency opportunity as well. Both residency will be carried out during May and we will be posting their progress across our social media platforms. Marchmont House will also be hosting their first open studios event during this time and we will provide more information regarding this closer to the time.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to work in residency at Marchmont house and to have the focussed time and studio space in which to develop work there. The possibility of working on site there will allow me to draw directly from the species, forms and stories linked to the natural surroundings of the house and from the imagery and processes used within its unique arts and craft interiors. In doing so I hope to be able to build upon processes in working with decorative surfaces and on ongoing interests in working with specific sites, species and landforms in order to explore the ways that our changing understandings of nature are revealed through its use in decorative surfaces and imagery, and to develop ideas, drawings and the building blocks for more ambitious work suited to site-specific or outdoor environments.”
